Bear has decided that this week we should explain the process of becoming an Exceptional Bear!

We have so many bears wanting to join our happy Bear ‘HUG’ now, that we have worked out a process to make sure that no bear misses out on all the fun and excitement of being an Exceptional Bear.

As we explained in an earlier post about when our BIG Bears went along for their own photo shoot, every bear who joins the Exceptional Bear Hug has a series of ID photos taken.

These photos are used when we look for new families who would like to adopt our lovable, huggable exceptional bears! Sometimes people even ask for extra photographs as they love the few pictures they see of the bear they have chosen.

Every new arrival has a plastic wallet put over their cardboard tags to keep these ID tags as clean and protected as possible. Then we look for sleeping quarters, if there are other bears with the same name they usually bunk up together without any further discussion.

Quite frequently those with similar interests will find their way to forming their own small groups. At the moment we have Mingle, Anias, Chrissie, Chocolate Muffin and Anniversary Poem all excited and inseparable as they are full of the joys of spring and thoughts of a Valentines Day shopping trip!

All the bears are constantly checking their ‘stats’ on eBay and there is always great excitement when any one of them has been ‘ordered/adopted’ and will be moving on to a new home. Many of them even have the excitement of moving to a different country on a whole new continent ?

At this point the Exceptional Bears ‘exit strategy’ kicks in!

The bear who is leaving is asked to collect their belongings together and then there is much rushing around looking for ‘who’s borrowed my necklace’ or ‘where did you leave my scarf when you used it last’?

Eventually, the lucky bear who is moving out has all their belongings together and it is time for them to have their final ‘brush and polish up’. This has become known as their ‘Last Spa Session’!

Every bear that leaves Exceptional Bear headquarters has an extensive spa session, which includes ears, eyes, paws, fur checked and brushed before they go. They are then packed carefully with their belongings and any other extras such as individual bags or information leaflets.

When they are safely cushioned in bubble wrap in a securely taped up box and shipped off with tracking numbers sent to their adopted family, all we can do is wait and hope to hear that they have reached their destinations safely.

We are always relieved to hear that they have reached their new homes securely.
